General Hunting Information
Game Calling Devices & Restrictions
“Hand or mouth-operated calls may be used in hunting all species.
Mechanical and electronic (digitally reproduced or tape recorded sound)
calls may only be used to take groundhogs, coyotes, wild hogs, English
sparrows and starlings during daylight hours. A hunter may use
electronic calls for furbearers during the furbearer season. Mechanical
and electronic calls may be used to take crows only during crow season.
Electronically-produced sounds or calls may not be possessed or used
while turkey hunting. (301 KAR 2:251, 3:030, 2:140)”
[Overview] Kentucky limits use of electronic
wildlife callers for groundhogs, coyotes, wild hogs, English sparrows
and starlings during daylight hours. It is also permitted to use
electronic wildlife callers for furbearers and crows during their
respective seasons.
