Biography
Daniel was born and raised in the small town of Kinmundy, Illinois, where he still resides with his wife Krissa and their 4 children. He is the Vice-President of one of five family businesses that he helps operate, and he farms around 800 acres as well.
Daniel grew up with an older brother that hunted and helped instill the hunting lifestyle in him. From the time he was 8 years old, you would rarely catch him without a rifle, fishing pole, or a bow in his hands. He started with small game which eventually evolved into hunting any and all legal game in Southern Illinois.
He and his brother hunted foxes and coyotes, mostly with dogs, until about the age of 12. That is when he saw the first set red eyes bouncing into the call at night. He was immediately hooked. He has used hand calls, boom boxes with cassette tapes, CD’s, and eventually he ended up with the Foxpro FX3. He has stepped his way up since then with the Fury, Fusion, Shockwave, and now the all new Xwave. The tx 1000 remote with all of it’s operations has been a game changer! Since that time, he only uses and recommends Foxpro electronic calls. The options and sound quality from his first Foxpro onward has been amazing. He has always looked forward to predator hunting in the winter; however, in 2014, about the time he started using night vision and thermal, Coyote Calling Competitions started in his area. The competitions lit a fire in him and his calling partner and fellow field staffer, Jon Schoonover. Together, they have placed or won almost all of the competitions in Southern Illinois that they have participated in. In 2018, they took 3rd place in the Easter Elite Competition.
Daniel is also an avid bowhunter. Since having kids old enough to hunt and being successful on several archery elk trips out West, his main focus has been guiding and introducing them to everything the outdoors has to offer, including predators, as they have all experienced several successful stands.
